After reading a post (and the comments) over at Monster Hunter Nation regarding people who won’t read a series until the author has finished it, I thought it would be a good idea to post my anticipated plans for the ‘Republic of Texas Navy’ series.
I am currently working on book 3 of the series, with the working title ‘Texas in the Med’, and I have already posted several snippets here. At this time, I anticipate there will be a total of four books in the WW2 story arc (This includes ‘Texas at the Coronation’). So, one more book after the one I’m working on now.
After that, there will be a time jump of about 20 years into a Cold War / Space Race story arc, possibly with Karl and Viola’s children as the primary characters.
After that, who knows? I’ve got the itch to write some Sci-Fi, so I may jump forward another couple hundred years (TEXAS…IN…SPAAAAAAACE ;-) )

If you do a Texas in Space novel, be sure to give a shout-out to H. Beam Piper's Lone Star Planet.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see two novels to cover 1) the rest of the European war and 2) defeating the Japanese Navy
ReplyDeleteHi Gerald,
ReplyDeleteAt this time, I’m looking at doing both theaters in one book, but that may change depending on how much work that ends up being.
I just finished the first 2 books and I really love the story and character development. I just wish we had pictures of the ships being used by the Texas Navy though. I've always liked trimarans since I saw the movie Water World. Also, will we get to see the Texas Marines in action like we've seen the Navy so far?
ReplyDeleteHi Justin,
DeleteI’m glad you liked the first two books.
Book 3, ‘Texas in the Med’, is out now. It has a fair bit of action for the RTMC.
I have been looking for an artist who can do drawings of my ship designs, since I have zero artistic ability. Hopefully someday.
I'm about halfway through book 3 and so far it's really enjoyable and entertaining. Just outta curiosity, any idea when book 4 will release?
DeleteSorry, no ETA at this time.
